Sautéed Okra Curry

  • 200g Okra sliced
  • Half onion chopped
  • Two tomatoes chopped
  • One teaspoon cumin seed
  • One teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Two-three green chillies (optional)
  • Two tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste


  • Put a frying pan with oil, over medium-high heat. When it's hot, add the cumin seeds.
  • When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add okra and onion. Sauté for a few seconds.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt. Continue sautéing for about 2-3 minutes. Add the tomatoes and green chillies. Mix everything well.
  • Cover the pan and let it cook for five minutes or until the okra fully cooked.
  • Serve with white rice or Roti.
