Pour water into a saucepan on medium-high heat.
While the water is heated, in a mortar coarsely grind the ginger and cardamoms.
Then add them to the hot boiling water.
Let the water boil with ginger and cardamom for a few seconds. Then add the black tea and let it boil for another two minutes so that it releases all its colour and flavour.
Add milk and sugar. Let the whole thing boil for a minute.
Then strain it with a small strainer into a teapot or directly into the cups and serve it with any Indian snacks, cookies, or buns.
